Archery Hunting injuries

new-site-dr

Backcountry hunting and hiking in the Green Bay area can be a seriously demanding endeavor.

We train all year for a few short weeks every fall, hoping for the opportunity to fill our tags and freezers. For some people, this is an annual ordeal. But for others, this may be a once in a lifetime trip. Learning how to recover properly from archery or other training injuries or even an injury sustained in the field is vital for your continued success and enjoyment of the outdoors.

How to address hunting related pain or injuries WITHOUT having to take painkillers and WITHOUT having to have injections:

  • Maybe you drew a coveted tag this year, and have been putting in some extra time at the range, just to start to notice nagging shoulder pain every time you draw your bow. Or, perhaps you are headed out west for the first time and decided to start training for the mountains, only to realize that your knee is starting to become more and more aggravated.
  • Naturally, you go to the doctor’s office and they tell you to ice it and rest, or to just stop shooting your bow for a while because it’s “bad for your shoulder.” Maybe you’ll get some anti-inflammatories or pain medication. Even though you don’t want to stop shooting your bow, you do it because it’s what you were told.
  • You start to feel better, so you start shooting again. Unfortunately, once you start to get back into it, the pain suddenly starts again, and you’re left frustrated, unsure of what to do, and stuck in a vicious cycle. This is a common story of many of our clients prior to coming to see us.

How are we different?

When you are a patient here, you will be treated one-on-one with your doctor of physical therapy. You will receive an in-depth head to toe examination to find out exactly what the root cause of your symptoms are, and will be provided a 100% customized plan of care. We want to not only fix your pain, but build you stronger and more resilient at the same time. This is why the majority of our patients are able to return to full form without their pain coming back.

After the interview and physical exam, we create and build a fitness program that will improve your mobility, strength, and skill and reduce your pain.

There is too much to enjoy in the Green Bay area to be missing out due to pain. Come see us today!
